MULTI-CLIENT STRATEGIC DIALOGUE

essentialsEngaging executives from a variety of organizations allows participating executives to learn from the experience of other organizations. It also reduces the cost of the program for each organization.

The multi-client version of Strategic Dialogue focuses on subjects similar to those pursued in the single-client version. The participants in a Multi-Client Strategic Dialogue form a roundtable, which meets periodically:
  • Viewpoint Learning selects the subject of the roundtable in consultation with potential members.
  • Each participating organization pays a share of the cost, and each sends two members to the roundtable. (Additional members can attend for an additional fee). To foster a cumulative process of learning and dialogue, no substitutes are allowed at roundtable meetings.
  • To provide members with the time needed to build relationships, compare experiences and learn from each other, the Multi-Client Strategic Dialogue roundtable meets for one day each quarter for one year.
  • The first meeting provides an opportunity for the members to learn basic dialogue techniques, confirm or reframe the topic of the roundtable, get to know each other, begin to compare experiences on the central topic, and set a learning agenda.

The next two meetings are devoted to dialogues with local, national, and international authorities on subjects that members have placed on the learning agenda. Parts of these two meetings may include brief presentations or case studies by members on issues they face that are relevant to the topic of the roundtable.

the fourth and final meeting is designed for members to pull together what they have learned and action implications, both generally and specifically for their own businesses.
Viewpoint Learning drafts a report following the synthesis session that records the key lessons and insights identified by the participants and their general (not organization-specific) implications for action.

Members can distribute this report within their organizations if they wish, adding comments on the specific implications for their own businesses.
